29 Feb 2008 - Bunny Rabbit

The past few days have been warm and the snow is melting. Where we have shoveled snow the grass is showing through and our local bunny has been sitting outside the patio eating away at the grass.

24 Feb 2008 - Zoe's first outing

Craig, Sarah, and Zoe drove up from Ft. Collins to spend the weekend with us. This was the first travel adventre for Zoe (5wks old) and for Craig and Sarah to determine what they needed to pack into the car. We were able to ski with Craig on Saturday. We really enjoyed being able to see Zoe again.

10 Feb 2008 Snow Art

While walking up Hamilton Creek with our friends Steve, Ruth, and their dog Lucy, we spotted this snow art. Snow, wind, and melting creates some interesting art. Was nature sculpturing George Washington or Washington Redskins logo????

09 Feb 2008 London's Camden Market Fire

Here is a photo of Camden Town Market in the northern section of London. Tonight, there is a fire that is burning in the area we visited while in London. 550 people have been evacuated. It appears that the fire is now under control.
Click here to view a video of the fire.

The photo below was taken just down the road from where the fire is burning. We walked through the section that is under fire.

08 Feb 2008 - Winter Storm

For the past month and half, we have had snow almost everyday. Last night, it snowed really hard with heavy winds resulting in 2'+ drifts in our driveway this morning. I have had problems with our snowblower recently where the auger would not move. Yesterday, I decided to store the blower in our garage because I thought that maybe the auger was freezing over night.
Well that apparently was the problem because this morning I needed to plow before Helen could go skiing and the snow blower word well. I first plowed a narrow path to get the Explorer out so I could take Helen to meet our neighbor Frank to go skiing. Later I spent about 2.5hrs clearing snow which was over the top of the snow blower (22"high). I then dug a path from our stairs to our patio. Yesterday this path was clear. Today, there was over 20" of snow in it. We have shoveled some much snow from the patio deck this year, that it is hard to find a place to put it. In recent years, we could just push the snow off the deck but this year you have to throw it and try to get it as far away from the deck as possible. More snow is due tonight.

06 Feb 2008 - Our Local Fox

After breakfast, I was in the kitchen and looked out our back window and the fox had just walked up to the top of the hill and was standing near the edge of the road. I ran to get my camera to take a picture but when I returned he was gone. As I walked back downstairs to tell Helen about missing the photo, I looked out the window and the fox had walked back down the hill and was laying in the snow near the willows. I ran back up stairs and was able to take several pictures (thru the window) of our local fox laying in the snow.
