22 Feb 2011 - Snowshoeing

We went snowshoeing across the valley from our house behind the Three Peaks development. We have snowshoed here several times but this is the first time we made it to the top of ridge where we could view the Gore Range. On the way up, Helen noticed the cloud formations. Several of the photos looks like snow covered peaks. We had perfect weather, clear blue skies, and no one else was in the area.

29 Dec 2008 - Snowshoe day

The past two days, we have gone snowshoeing. Yesterday, we snowshoed across the valley behind the Three Peaks golf course. We almost made it to the top of the ridge but Helen's feet got cold. Today, she used her heaters from her ski boots and we hiked to the top of a ridge near Acorn Creek about 11 miles north of Silverthorne. Both days, we had clear blue sky and no wind. Today the snow got heavy as we hiked back down.
