We went snowshoeing across the valley from our house behind the Three Peaks development. We have snowshoed here several times but this is the first time we made it to the top of ridge where we could view the Gore Range. On the way up, Helen noticed the cloud formations. Several of the photos looks like snow covered peaks. We had perfect weather, clear blue skies, and no one else was in the area.

While in El Calafate, Argentina we visited the Pento Moreno Glacier. This is one of the only glaciers that is not retreating but holding its own. The face of the glacier is about 250' and the length is 19miles. While we were there, we could hear the cracking of the glacier and were able to view several large pieces falling off into the water. They were really loud and created a wave that could be heard several minutes later when the wave hit the beach across the lake. Amy, one of our tour members, was able to capture the largest piece with her video. Click hereto view her video.
Still sorting through all the photos we took on our recent trip to South America. This is at the Mirador las Torres (lookout towers) of the Torres Del Paine.
